Given the widespread impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), I wanted to personally reach out and let you know that the safety of our customers and employees is our top priority. We are committed to providing safe and reliable service to our customers and remain open for business.

 

We are closely monitoring the news and taking action based on guidance from the public health experts, local, state and federal governments. At this point in time to maintain a safe environment for everyone, limit exposure and address customer concerns, we are taking the following measures.

 

Enhanced Cleaning Protocols

Our technicians have been instructed to disinfect their equipment regularly. We have access to Germicide and Viricide products that can be used to kill Human Coronavirus and several other contagious viruses. We have instructed all our staff to use this on their shoes, pant legs, and equipment bags. (Please note: the disinfecting products we use have been EPA approved for killing the COVID-19 virus on surfaces.)

 

Safety Equipment

Our technician's standard protective equipment, gloves and face masks/respirators, are of a higher standard than the general physician's mask and most commonly talked about N95 masks.

 

Special Services

Special services will continue to be performed. We ask that you please let us know if any residents in the buildings we service are under quarantine, so we can take precautionary measures.

 

Thorough Disinfecting Services of Buildings

Disinfecting Services CDC and EPA Approved Product

Amid the Coronavirus outbreak, Pest Pro is offering CDC- and EPA-approved product disinfecting services.

 

During the global Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak people are looking to protect themselves, their families and properties from potential contamination.

 

Pest Pro has developed a COVID-19 Disinfecting Service using CDC- and EPA-approved COVID-19 disinfectants that kill the disease on direct contact.


We offer two treatment options based on the size of the space and areas treated:

1. Direct Contact Disinfectant Service for high contact surfaces

2. Ultra Low Volume (ULV) Misting Service (similar to fogging) for larger areas

 

To date we have conducted this service on many properties and have received feedback from residents expressing appreciation that the service is providing them with greater peace of mind during this troubling time.

 

According to the National Institutes of Health, the virus that causes coronavirus is stable for several hours to days on various surfaces.

 

Scientists found that COVID-19 was detectable on the following:

  • Up to 5 hours on shoes
  • Up to 24 hours on cardboard
  • Up to 2 to 3 days on plastic and stainless steel
  • Up to 3 hours in the air from sneezing or coughing, allowing aerosol particles to land on various objects and surfaces
  • CDC research showed that the coronavirus was found on surfaces of the Diamond Princess Cruise ship up to 17 days after passengers disembarked

 

These findings suggest that many people can acquire the virus after touching contaminated objects, and oftentimes people infected with the virus do not show symptoms for days, if at all. This is why it is so important to take precautionary steps of disinfecting high-touch surfaces.

  • Do your technicians use protective gear?

    Yes. Our technicians wear P100 masks (superior to the widely talked about N95 masks) and protective nitrile 5-mil gloves during any disinfectant service. Our technicians also spray their shoes and equipment with the disinfectant pre- and post-treatment.


    If we are entering an apartment or office where someone has/had COVID-19 we wear full body protective gear, including a full-face respirator to conduct the disinfectant service.

  • What is the difference between the COVID-19 Disinfectant Service and the COVID-19 Ultra Low Volume (ULV) Misting Service?

    The COVID-19 Disinfectant Service is used for common areas of properties whereas the COVID-19 Ultra Low Volume (ULV) Misting Service is used for larger spaces such as apartments and office spaces.

  • What is included in the COVID-19 Disinfectant Service?

    Our technicians will disinfect general areas of the building, including common areas. The process is a direct application of the disinfectant to areas that are most commonly touched by residents.


    We spray the entire handrail of the stairwell, each apartment exterior doorknob including locks and frames, building door frames and handles, intercom, garbage lids, hopper doors, elevator door frames on each floor, inside elevator cars, mailboxes, laundry machines, package rooms, etc.

  • What is included in the COVID-19 Ultra Low Volume (ULV) Misting Service?

    The COVID-19 Ultra Low Volume (ULV) Misting Service is for larger spaces like an office or apartment if someone was sick and their belongings and area needed disinfecting. Our technician will direct the output of the ULV machine throughout the entire space paying attention to the entire floor surface, any desks, chairs, tables, couches, beds, bathrooms, countertops and other surfaces.
